Ysi: Symbol for the Good Lords of the East

Octogram sans one

In Ysi, the symbol for the Good Lords of the East, the Eight, was originally just an octogram. It wasn’t really meant to be a symbol, except among the Eight themselves. After certain events, one of the Seven—presumably the leader—decided to modify the original octogram by simply removing one of the points, the spiteful bastard. In the end, the symbol evolved as shown in the picture.
