Great Idea of the Day I’ll never ever fulfill

I hate it when I get ideas that sound nice. They’re just in the way of ongoing projects. Today, after discovering there is a new audiobook version of the Kalevala out, and discovering that the price tag is 30e, I thought it could be nice for someone to make a free audiobook of it. The Kalevala is PD—has been for ages and ages and ages, possibly it predates Finnish copyright-laws altogether—so it would be perfectly possible for someone with the patience to do it all. As an example, here’s me reciting the first few stanzas.

Also, I’ve always wondered where the bottleneck for microphone audio quality of computers stems from: are 1) microphones crappy 2) the sound-cards not good enough or 3) the whole computer microphone I/O setup low-quality?
